On Friday the 7th of June, 2024, the vibrant team of SiidAfrica Initiatives and Coappt Solutions launched the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Youth Project with an impactful and engaging workshop at Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH).
The first AI workshop which is part of the programs for students in higher institutions, and was hosted in partnership with the LASUSTECH Student Consultative Assembly (SCA), saw over three hundred (300) students in attendance. The event was led by Mr. David Gabriel, the SRC President, along with other committee members and student leaders from various departments
Also in attendance were representatives from the Directorate of Student Affairs (DSA), including Dr. Ademola Aderogba and his secretary. Dr. Ademola Aderogba’s presence affirmed LASUSTECH’s commitment to fostering knowledge acquisition and advancing students’ skills in technology, particularly in AI.
The AI Revolution Youth Project led by Mr. G.O. Lawal, Founder SiidAfrica Initiatives successfully introduced students to the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI), transitioning them from a state of unknown to the point of understanding the importance of AI in today’s world. Other team members present at the students program are Mr. Samuel Odusanya, Co-Founder and COO, Coappt Solutions; Mrs. Ibrahim Temitope Khadijat, Programs Manager; Mrs. Abimbola Lawal, Operations Manager; Ms. Bolu Oladele, Content and Social Media Strategist; and Mr. Muiz Bada, IT Associate.
The engagement and feedback from students, along with over 120 students who registered to attend the upcoming three days intensive AI training bootcamp physically at American Corner, Ikeja, clearly demonstrate that SiidAfrica Initiatives and its partners are addressing significant knowledge gaps among Nigerian youth on AI. This initiative is raising awareness and inspiring actions in using AI to tackle societal challenges.
Anticipate further updates as the workshop takes place in other institutions like University of Lagos, Lagos State University, Yaba College of Technology, Lagos State University of Education, and Federal College of Education, Akoka.

The AI Revolution Lagos Student Program in was put together for students in Lagos higher institutions in partnership with American Corner, Ikeja, Tech4Dev, Ayisat Ajoke Afolabi Foundation and Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre (WARDC).
